The Elkhart Theater was opened prior to 1950. Although standing as of 2016 the Elk Theatre has long ago been closed, and had a period when it was a church, it is now abandoned and forgotten.

The Elk sign is gone. When I drove through Elkhart Sunday, Aug 30, the sign was gone, as was the church sign. They were both there the previous Sunday.
