Located in Batley, West Yorkshire. The Victoria Hall was a large hall built within the Batley Conservative Club building, which was built in 1891. It was designed in a Classical style by Dewsbury based architect George Fox. Films were screened here in December 1897.
After some alterations in 1913, it became a full time cinema, known as the Victoria Hall Cinema from December 1913. It was equipped with a RCA sound system around 1930.
The Victoria Hall Cinema was closed on 2nd February 1957, the same day as the Plaza Cinema closed. The Batley Conservative Club used the building into the the 2010’s. the former Victoria Hall Cinema having become the Victoria Function Room.
The vacant building is now in a state of disrepair, and has been a target of vandals. Future plans are to convert it into a library.

In the above photo, the blue door on the left was the cinema entrance. The cinema shared the building with the Batley Conservative Club.
Unfortunately, the Conservative Club closed down several years ago, and is in a derelict state with vandals having gained access. There were plans submitted in February 2025 for conversion into retail and a library. I have added a picture of the now disused Victoria Hall.
