In Alva, Clackmannanshire, the Hillfoot Picture House is thought to have opened prior to 1921. By 1931 the proprietor and resident manager was Mr Hudson.
He continued until at least 1954. Indeed, it is thought that the cinema lasted until at least 1977.
When I visited, in March 2009, the building was boarded up. It has since reopened as a wholesale meat market.

Address is incorrect, it should be 128, Stirling Street, FK12 5EH. Currently in use as a meat wholesale store, Macfarlane Meat Products.
