AMC Dine-In Block 37 opened on December 17, 2015. Unlike other AMC Dine-In Theatres, this one is all new construction, located on the fourth floor of Block 37.
As reported by DNAinfo Chicago, each auditorium has 40 recliners that are arranged in pairs and photographs show there is space between the pairs. That would mean a total of 440 seats divided among the 11 auditoriums. A photograph of their touch screen ticketing shows that each auditorium has six rows with ample handicapped space.
On site is a MacGuffins Bar where drinks can be purchased without buying a theatre ticket.

As I remember, this theater was actually built around 2005-2006 when the whole “Block 37” was built. It was supposed to have3 been operated by Muvico. but the deal fell through and in fact the cinema sat mothballed for several years. Finally AMC agreed to operate it.
I also find it interesting that the complex and the cinema were named for the derisive name for the project. The short version is that the City of Chicago demolished the black circa 1989-1990 for “urban renewal” and the block sat vacant for many years. Block 37 is the city’s official “block” # for the site.
The block was also the site of the Roosevelt and the United Artists theaters.
I had the best time I’ve had in a movie theater seeing The Beekeeper here early this year.
