In the small Aberdeenshire town of Aberchirder, the West Cinema opened in 1953 in what appears to have been a former chapel. It used 16mm projection, and was presumably a relatively short-lived operation.
When I visited, in June 2005, the building was boarded up. Google Street View in September 2015 indicates that was still then case then.

It was still being listed in the 1967 Kine Year Book. The owners were Portsoy Cinema Co. of Cullen, Banffshire.
