Located in the Mt. Clemens district in the Parkway Plaza Shopping Center on Groesbeck Highway at 16 Mile Road. The Parkway 1 & 2 Theatres was opened February 23, 1972 with Walt Disney’s “Song of the South” starring Bobby Driscoll and Terence Hill in “They Call Me Trinity”. It was operated by Suburban Detroit Theatres. Each screen had 650 seats. I have an advertisement for the movie “Junior Bonner” from the Detroit News dated July 7, 1972 for this theatre.
It was closed on October 17, 1985. It was converted into a T.J. Maxx store.

This venue closed as the Parkway Twin 1 & 2 Theatres on October 17, 1985 following showings of “Rocky III” and “Sorceress” splitting a screen with “Alone in the Dark.” For those who came the next night for a film, they got the latter minus the movie.
This theater was in Clinton Township, several miles away from Detroit.
