In New Romney, Kent, a Cinema operated in the Assembly Rooms for an unspecified period of time. The building is said to have been erected as the meeting place of the Courts of Brotherhood and Guestling, consisting of the representatives of the Cinque Ports and the Ancient Towns. It is thought to have been constructed soon afterwards the adjoining schoolroom was built in 1676.

The Grade II listed Assembly Rooms is owned by New Romney Town Council. It is available for hire for private parties, functions and meetings.
