Regal Cinema

Located in Lydd, near New Romney, Kent. The Cinema was opened in 1916. In 1922 under new owners it was re-named Playhouse Cinema. It was equipped with an AWH sound system in around 1930. By 1937 it had been re-named Cinema again. It was taken over by London & Provincial Cinemas Ltd. The Cinema was still operating in 1947.

It was sold in 1959 and was re-named Regal Cinema. The building was put up ‘For Sale’ in 1963 and was closed by 1964. It has been demolished and a building used by the fire brigade has been built on the site.
