The Esquire Gardens opened in 1951 with 300 seats, and the 250-seat Esquire Theatre opened later in the 1950’s. The Esquire Theatre and Gardens closed in about 1960, and demolished(date unknown?). The site is now a service station(Puma) and 2 shops and a laundromat.

The Caltex service station on that site changed name to Puma early in 2015.

There used to be a building on the corner next to the 2 shops and laundomat that the theatre and gardens might have been attached to(there was signs that something was attached to the shops side of the building!). The building was demolished in 2016, and is now a small park and 2 big ad billboards as seen in the photo to the right!
