The Modern Cinema was built in 1920 by Georges Paternotte and he operated it until his death in 1958. His daughter Liliane Paternotte and her husband Marcel Germain took over the cinema but since they had 2 other other firms to run they closed the theatre in 1966. After being used as a supermarket and a rug shop, it now houses two employment firms.
