Located to the southeast of Downtown. Owned by Mann Theatres. Was built to replace the Boulder Theatre. Every auditorium seated 200. I believe it opened in 1980 or somewhere around there. Booth opened with Ballantyne Strong Pro-35 projectors with ORC consoles and platters. Had two projection booths-one for theatres 1 & 2, the other for theatres 3 & 4. Opening union operators (projectionists) were Jack Quinn and John Templeton. Theatre 1 had a silver screen and I ran a lot of 3D in the 1980’s in there.

As far as past Union operators (projectionists) went, John Templeton (relief operator at opening) replaced Jack Quinn, Roy Stewart replaced John Templeton and Russ Allen replaced Roy Stewart. It was last operated by Colorado Cinemas and was closed by Spring of 2002.

A petstore operates at this address as of 04/23/15.

These cinemas were not actually “built” but were carved out of space that was previously used for retail in an upscale strip mall. In order to accommodate the slope of seating towards the screen, there were about six steps up from the lobby level, with a small wheelchair lift.

A Petco was on its site, and has been like that since sometime in the mid-2000s.

I saw Vanilla Sky and Ocean’s 11 at this theater, both released late 2001. I think it was closed by Spring 2002.
