This was the first Holiday Drive-In to operate in Boulder, CO. It was opened on July 9, 1953 with Robert Taylor in “Ride, Vaquero!”. It originally had its entrance on 28th Street, but when 30th Street was cut through in the 1960’s, its entrance was moved to that location. It was operated by Graves & Williams.
It was demolished in 1969, and the Holiday Twin Drive-In opened on July 9, 1969 on 28th Street (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

Was once part of the Highland Theatres chain. Should be added to the list of previous operators.
A more accurate address for this version of the drive in was 1150 30th St, Boulder, CO 80303. This points to the entrance road. If you look closely at 30th and Colorado on the NE corner, though barely visible part of the entrance road is still there.

The April 23, 1962 issue of BoxOffice reported, “The screen tower at the Holiday Drive-In, Boulder, was blown down and completely demolished in a 60-mile-an-hour wind.”
Motion Picture Herald, July 18, 1953: “Claude Graves and Wilbur Williams opened their new 600-car Holiday drive-in, Boulder, Colo.”
Grand opening ad posted
