This building was the origional Oak Brook Theater that was opend by Balaban & Katz with the mall in the 1960’s. The opening movie for the Oak Brook Theater on December 25, 1964 was Rock Hudson & Doris Day in “Send Me No Flowers” The origional theater stayed a single screen theater until the early-1980’s when it was devided into 3 theatres. In 1987 a second group of theatres opened under an new section of the mall.

As moviegoing declined in the 1990’s the newer theatres closed and were converted into storage for retailers. Eventually the origional 3 closed as well. The theatre building sat abandoned till being renovated into the Cheesecake Factory in early-2000’s.
