The Skylark Drive-In was located south of Leavenworth on Shrine Park Road and Eisenhower (formally Richardson) Road on the NW corner. It was opened in August 1949 when it was operated by Durwood Theatres of Kansas City. In early-1977 it was taken over by Crown Cinema Corporation. It was still open in the 1980’s, but had closed by the 1990’s
Today, a Dillons stands in its place.

The July 16, 1949 issue of BoxOffice reported, “The Skylark Drive-In being erected by the Durwood circuit on Shrine Park road south of Leavenworth, Kas., was expected to be ready for opening by August 1.”
Still open in the 1980s, but was gone by the 1990s.
On Feb. 3, 1977, the Leavenworth Times noted in passing that Crown Cinema Corp. was operating the Skylark Drive-In.
