Rocket Drive-In

While nearly ready to open, the Rocket Drive-In was hit by a storm on June 18, 1952. According to the Salina Journal, there was $5,000 damage but the independent theater was finally open by July 9.

Later operators include National General and then Mann Theatres, who closed it in 1978. In 1985, a Holiday Inn Holidome, now called Ramada Inn, was built on the site.
