The Rex Theatre had opened prior to June 23, 1926 when it was badly damaged by a fire. It was reopened by Comerford Theaters Inc. In May 1930 it was taken over by Paramount-Publix and on January 1, 1933 it was returned to Comerford. It seated 500 according to the Film Daily Yearbook of 1940. By 1950 it is listed with 645 seats. The Rex Theatre was closed on January 22, 1956 with Betty Grable in “Three For the Show” & The Harlem Globetrotters in “Go, Man Go”.

Part of the Comerford chain as of 1930.
Damaged by a fire on June 23, 1926, later reopened. The Rex closed on January 22, 1956 with Betty Grable in “Three For The Show” and the Harlem Globetrotters in “Go, Man, Go”.
Paramount-Publix took over the theater in May 1930, but Comerford took it back on January 1, 1933.
