The Super 20 Drive-In opened in May of 1964 with Frankie Avalon in “Muscle Beach Party” & Bobby Diamond in “Airborne”. At that time, it was a single screen. The car capacity was 600 cars. The drive-in was operated by Dubuque Theatre Corp. and was closed at the end of the 1987 season. By then it was a two-screen operation. The site is now a Chrysler/Jeep Dealer.

Also I got the old address from articles about the drive in. There are several online. Someone on one of those sites mentioned the newer location was now a trailer park further down Highway 20.
The drive-in closed at the end of the 1987 season and owner Nick Yiannias decided not to open in 1988.
A more accurate address for this theater is 14674 N Cascade Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003. This points directly to the entrance road.
Please update.
Thie Super 20 in Dubuque was among a handful of drive-ins equipped to screen 70mm prints in addition to 35mm.
Opened with “Muscle beach party”.
The Dubuque IA Telegraph Herald published an article on June 21, 2019 that quoted Dennis Voy, owner of the nearby 61 Drive-In in Maquoketa IA since 1972. Voy said that what became the Super 20 “used to reside near the intersection of U.S. 20 and John F. Kennedy Road before later moving to a spot near U.S. 20 and North Cascade Road.”
Also opened with “Airborne”.
