The Valley Drive-In opened in 1957 with a 400 car capacity. It was owned by Ward & Christine Nichols who formed Cinema Entertainment Corp. in the same year. They also owned the Gilles Theatre in Wahpeton and the Ridge Theatre in Breckenridge. The Valley Drive-In was open into the 1980’s.

A closer address (at least for Google) is 17910 79 ½ St SE, Wahpeton, ND. A business currently sits on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining. http://tinyurl.com/hnesb6w
the marquee may remaion still actually!
I do not see any evidence of a marquee, even in the historic aerial photos from 1963 or 1969 when the drive-in existed. A lack of a separate marquee for a drive-in is not all that unusual as the back of the screen often held the marquee.
All I see is a billboard on the NW side of the parking lot that didn’t show up until the 1991 aerial, long after the drive-in was closed and demolished.
then i mistakenly though that was the marquee my bad!
