The Mt. Pleasant Theatre opened on December 27, 1930 with Helen Twelvetrees in “Swing High”. This theatre was built on the site of the former Capitol Theatre which was destroyed by fire. The Mt. Pleasant Theatre was closed in 1939 and is listed in the 1940 Film Daily Yearbook as closed with 700 seats.
