Located in Jarrow, Tyne & Wear. The Gem Cinema was opened in 1910. By 1934 it had been re-named Picture House. It had a 40 feet wide proscenium and was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. The cinema also had a café.
The Picture House was closed on 31st August 1963, and was converted into a bingo club by William Noble of South Shields. It has since been demolished
