Viking Cinema

Located in Largs, north Ayrshire. Built for the Bridgend Picture House Company in 1938, and sold to George Palmer in 1946. Remained an independent cinema with 1,292 seats and a café. The exterior was a flamboyant homage to the Battle of Largs. It features a portcullis over the entrance and the prow of a Viking ship projecting forwards towards the street.

The Viking Cinema closed on the 4th August 1973 and subsequently became a bottling plant and distribution centre. This landmark was later demolished.
