Pioneer Philadelphia movie exhibitor Marcus A. Benn opened the A.B.C. Theatre in 1913. It was located in a former stable that was converted into a theatre by architects Anderson & Haupt. The house was located in the University Park neighborhood. It was closed in 1919 and its site is now part of a parking facility for the surrounding campuses.

According to PAB, the team of Anderson & Haupt consisted of Julius J. Anderson, an architect and Max Haupt, an engineer. Any other details about the A.B.C. Theatre would be most appreciated!
I thought after six months someone would have something to share, but I guess not?
According to Glazer’s hardback book Philadelphia Theatres A-Z, it only operated as a theater intermittently for 5 years. That began 1914, so I wouldn’t expect anybody at this time to recall it.
Thank you Howard for your insight!
