The Maurim Theatre was built and opened in 1931 by Louis J. Maurin and could accomodate 250 patrons. For many years it was operated by Affiliated Theatres. It closed as a movie theatre in the late-1950’s.
The theatre was renovated in 1981 and renamed the St. John’s Theatre and Civic Center operated by the St. John’s Catholic Church. It no longer shows movies.
