Now little more than a ruin, the Nelson Constant Theater was named for its owner, who also once owned an adjacent ballroom. The theater appears to have been in operation by 1939 was was closed after Hurricane Betsy in 1965. The projector was powered by electricity from a hand-cranked diesel generator.
