The Palace Theatre was opened by February 1929. Seating was listed at 550. This was an African American theatre that was operated by Dixie Amusements. The theatre closed in the late-1950’s. It has since been demolished and there is an empty lot where the theatre once stood.

Although I cannot find the grand opening advertisement, there is an article mentioning the “new” Palace Theatre in February 1927. It was already operating by February 1929.
