The Bemidji Daily Pioneer newspaper gives the opening date of the Elko Theatre as March 7, 1917 with Mary Pickford in “The Pride of the Clan”. By 1941 it was operated by the Berger Amusement Co. The Elko Theatre was listed in the 1951 Film Daily Yearbook with 400 seats. It had gone from listings by 1952. It went into use as a bar and retail use. It was demolished in 2020.
