Strand Theatre

Located in the Yorktown district to the north of Center City. Built on the site of a YMCA, the Strand Theatre was opened in 1913. By 1941 it was operated by Warner Bros. Circuit Management Corp. Not to be confused with the larger Strand Theatre on Germantown Avenue (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

This Strand Theatre was closed in 1958. It became a Baptist church. A full demolition permit was issued in August 2021 and it was demolished in January 2022.
