This theatre opened as the Moore Theatre in 1935, seating 300 patrons. By 1950 it had been renamed the Center Theatre. The street numbers have changed since 1940, they have increased by 100. In 1950 all three theatres in Mooresville were being managed by Mr. Dale Groome (Carolina, Center and the State). The Center Theatre along with its two sister theatres closed in the mid to late-1950’s.
