Capitol Theatre

Replacing an earlier Capitol Theatre. The Capitol Theatre was opened by the Giaschi family on November 2, 1948 as a single-screen theatre seating 750. Twinned in the 1980’s. The Capitol Theatre was closed in March 202 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. It never reopened and by 2022 the building still stood, but vacant and gutted.

There are two Capitol Theatres in Huntsville. The newer Capitol Theatre opened its doors on November 2, 1948 as a replacement of the older Capitol Theatre located left of the town hall that later became a bowling alley in 1952. It was twinned in the late-1970s.
