The City Hall Opera House was built around 1908, located on East Main Street and South Southwark Street. When moving pictures began to be shown in the building, it was renamed Strand Theatre.
The Strand Theatre is listed in the 1927 edition of Film Daily Yearbook with 250 seats. The building has been demolished.

The old Williamston City Hall building was built in 1907 on the corner of East Main and North Smithwick Streets. The building burned down in December 1958. At the time it burned the theater had long since closed.
