The Beaumont Enterprise noted that the 3-screen Parkdale Mall Cinema I-II-III opened on December 16, 1977 as an addition to the Parkdale Mall. It was operated by General Cinema Corporation. In 1996 it was taken over by Hollywood Theaters and expanded.
The theater endured extensive exterior, interior, and flood damage when struck by Hurricane Rita in September of 2005. After much delay the 1,750-seat theater reopened on December 22, 2006. It was taken over by Regal Entertainment on April 1, 2013.

Expanded and reopened as the Star on May 23rd, 1997. Ad posted.
Please update, rename theatre to Regal Star as per website, theatre was expanded to 12 screens with 5 opening on May 23, 1997 and the other wing 6-12 on July 11, 1997
