Montgomery Mall Theatre

The Montgomery Mall Theatre opened August 13, 1970 with Robert Morse in “The Boatniks” and was operated by ABC Southeastern Theatres. It was a single screen seating 800 and was billed as an Ultravision theatre, equipped for 70mm presentation. Martin Theatres took over operations and twinned the theatre December 23, 1977. It was closed by Carmike Theatres on April 2, 1987 with Shelly Long in “Outrageous Fortune” & Mickey Rourke in “Angel Heart”.

It was demolished for expansion of the parking lot for the mall. Now the mall is completely closed and considered a dead mall.

Opened with Walt Disney’s “The Boatniks” along with an Ultravision demonstration of “Skies Over Holland”. It was twinned on December 23, 1977 and closed by Carmike on April 2, 1987 with “Outrageous Fortune” in Screen 1 and “Angel Heart” in Screen 2.

  • Correction: This was opened by ABC Southeastern Theatres, not ABC Florida State Theatres.
