The Elite Theatre was opened in 1914 and operated until 1928. It had 600 seats. Unable to convert to ‘talkies’ it was closed for several years.
It was reopened in 1936 as the Euclid Theatre, with 515 seats, when Robert Soffer took over in July 1936. He operated a dramatic stock company during the winter season and presented movies in the summer. The Euclid Theatre was closed in 1940.
A three story apartment building, built in the 1990’s is currently located at this address.
