Located in Strinestown, to the northwest of Manchester, PA. The Strinestown Drive-In was opened on May 26, 1951 with Roy Rogers in “Trigger Jr.” & Ellen Drew in “Rhythm Hits the Ice”(aka Ice-Capades). It was operated by G.W. Poe Jr. and booked by Manchester and Tri-States Buying and Booking Service of Philadelphia. During the 1970’s and into the 1980’s it played adult movies and was still open in 1993.

Located on Conewago Green Rd.
Correct street name is Conewago Creek Road. This little drive-in became infamous in the 1970s and 80s for screening XXX fare 365 nights a year. On Saturday nights traffic would back up all the way to I-83. A Saturday night robbery in the early 1980s resulted in the shooting death of a woman working the ticket booth.
A storm blew the screen down thus ending it’s long run of pornogrpahic films
Does anybody know the correct street address for it? I could not figure it out.
While the good people of Strinestown may have fervently prayed that a strong wind causing the old wooden screen to collapse(an act of God, perhaps?) would put an end to the drive-in, it didn’t. The screen was replaced and the drive-in stayed in business at least another decade.

To answer your question 54, the current address for this theater is now 101 Conewago Creek Rd, Manchester, PA 17345. This points to the entrance of the drive in. The property is now part of IAA Vehicle Purchasing, an auto auction business on Susquehanna Trail.
