Opening on October 3, 1986 the Tower Place Festival Cinemas was the fourth theatre in the greater Charlotte area to operated under General Cinema Theatres which also operated the Charlottetowne Mall, Southpark,and Eastland Mall Cinemas. Located in the Tower Place Shopping Center at the intersection of Highway 51 and Park Road. At the time of it’s opening, all auditoriums featured state of the art Dolby digital sound with plush velvet seats and advanced ticket sales for upcoming features. Not to mention acres of free parking. General Cinema Theatres closed this theatre in 1998.

General Cinema operated this theatre until 2001.

Seating capacity for this theatre was at 2,230.

This cinema did not close in 2001. It was shut down sometime in 1998.
