Located in Wirksworth, near Matlock, Derbyshire. The Northern Light Cinema is a conversion of Weston’s electrical showroom in The Malthouse. It opened on 4th July 2013, and is the first cinema to operate in the town since 1967, when the 525-seat Cinema closed.
The Northern Light Cinema screens the latest films and has a licenced bar for the use of its patrons.

Currently the cinema seats 52, and on my visit day the film (Mrs Lowry) was sold out at 7.30 pm. The bar is open for drinks and meals from around noon should you be passing..
Now run by Tony and Amanda Mundin who run the Ritz in Belper, Regal in Melton Mowbray.
