Revisiting the past out of curiosity. The lovely Hoyts Cinema Goulburn was once managed by my father David Burke in the 1960’s, my mother at one time made the heavy velvet red curtains for the screen on her Singer sewing machine at home. Many wonderful memories remain of countless sessions watching the same movies more than once, today I still remain an absolute ‘movie buff’! The Hoyts was a lovely theatre with a great atmosphere, and comfortable and attractive lounge upstairs. How sad to read these beautiful buildings have been demolished to house buildings which will never be remembered. Have enjoyed looking at the photos.

I used work near this location and a KFC now occupies the location. Back in the early eighties, a billboard for the Village Drive In was set out as you drove its lot. Last posters were CATHOLIC BOYS & RED SONIA (both were on video at the time and never got to play coz the drive In had closed down and those posters faded over a 3 year period…sad really
