Magee Opera House

The Magee Opera House was built in the early-1880’s. Used for various theatrical and community events, it began showing movies in the silent era. By 1941 it was known as the Magee Theater and it was still open in 1950.

In 1968, the building was torn down and the vacant lot that remained was turned into an urban park.

I uploaded 2 pictures in Photos section. One shows the current park at the old theater site, the other of its demolition in 1968.
