The Seattle Times covered the opening of Act III Theatres new Cinema 17 at the Supermall 17 on December 20, 1996.

At the time it was said that the theater at the Auburn Super Mall was the largest multiplex in the state. The Times noted that the lobby of the themed theater was designed like an airplane hanger with a floor that looked like a blinking landing strip.

In 1998 Act III Theatres merged with Regal Cinemas.

The lobby has a portion of an actual Boeing airplane suspended from the ceiling. This is definitely an Act 3 Theaters design.

This is an excellent theater to see a movie at. Excellent picture and sound.

This is the best Regal in Washington state.
