The Seattle Times noted that National General Theatres originally opened the 842-seat Fox Cinema Crossroads on January 8, 1968 with Elizabeth Taylor in “The Taming of the Shrew”. In 1971 a 512-seat auditorium was built and it became the Twin Cinema Crossroads 1 and 2.
Tom Moyer’s Luxury Theatres acquired the cinema in 1977 and converted it to a four-plex known as the Crossroads Quad Cinemas. The cinemas closed on December 8, 1988, the day before Luxury Theatres opened their Crossroads 8, and was converted to retail use.
