Hoyts Bondi Beach Six Ways Theatre

Located in the famous Bondi Beach district of Sydney, as the Six Ways junction, on the corner bounded by Hall Street and O'Brien Street and partly by Glenayre Avenue. The Six Ways Theatre was opened on 24th August 1923 and was operated by the E.L. Betts chain. Built on a triangular site, there was a terraced roof garden on top of the theatre. In 1937 it was taken over by Hoyts Theatres. In 1948 it was partly refurbished, and retained many of the original features.

Hoyts closed the Six Ways Theatre on 8th August 1959. It was demolished and a petrol station was built on the site. That too has since been demolished and Bondi Beach Holiday Apartments now stand on the site.

My mum (now 87 years old) use to work here at the milk bar when she was about 14 or 15 years old.
