The Odeon Edmonton opened on July 1, 1954 with Gregory Peck in “Man With a Million”. It was a single-screen theatre seating 1,125 on stalls and circle levels. The theatre was twinned on August 31, 1973, with a seating capacity of 626 and 420 in each of the two screens.

Cineplex Odeon took over management in 1984 and closed the Odeon Edmonton on July 28, 1988. By 2005 it was the New Likwid Lounge and later it became the Capitol City Nightclub.

Status should be listed as demolished. The current Google street view shows a vacant lot where the Odeon most recently stood.

It was New City Likwid Lounge in 2005 through at least 2008. So it likely ended it’s days as Capitol City Nightclub.
