The Oak Bay Theatre opened on July 15, 1936 with Ian Hunter in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. All seating was on a single level. It was closed on February 6, 1986 with James Mason in “The Shooting Party”. It was gutted to be converted into retail and office space.
