Meigaza Theater

One of the last three operating cinemas in Tokyo’s Asakusa district. It was opened in the late-1920’s/early-1930’s, and had operated over eighty years, when its last operator, the Chuei Company, which is a subsidiary of a Japanese movie studio company, closed it on 21st October 2012. At one time, the Asakusa district had over thirty cinemas.
