Dixie Drive In - then and now

Opened on October 16, 1950, the Dixieland Drive-In was located in Fayette, Alabama. It was run by Mrs. Lucy Cobb and a Mr.R.C. Cobb was the booker and buyer through Richards Theatres, It held 270 cars.

My hometown. If we weren’t going to the Richard’s (walk-in) Downtown, we were enjoying the Dixieland Drive-In. I remember when it first opened, they had a miniature train you could ride.

Now Advanced Auto Parts. Some ramps are still visible in the back of the property.

The Dixieland Drive-In Opened Its Doors On October 16th, 1950.
