The Bijou Theatre was opened on February 17, 1908. By 1911 Frank Kain was the manager. On September 30, 1919 it was renamed Regent Theatre. On September 28, 1938 it was renamed Center Theatre. It was operated by Paramount Pictures Inc. through their subsidiary Butterfield Michigan Theaters Co. On October 18, 1950 it was renamed Center Art Theatre. It was closed on March 2, 1952 with Thor, Heyerdahl in “Kon-Tiki”.

This opened or placed its first ad as Bijou on February 17th, 1908, and renamed Regent on September 30th, 1919, and Center on September 28th, 1938. Grand opening ad posted.

It became the Center Art theatre on October 18th, 1950, and closed in 1951. Another ad posted.

Closed March 2, 1952 with “Kon-Tiki”. Was remodeled for two storefronts in 1955 in Milton’s Clothes and Boston’s Shoes.
