The Augusta Drive-In was opened prior to 1955, it parked 300 cars and was operated by Mrs. D.A. Bistango. It was still open in 1983.

The drive in was run by Mrs. D.A. (Aline) Bisagno. When Aline was older, her son Bob Bisagno ran both the theater and the drive in. I worked at this drive in for two summers (72-3), and in the downtown theater in the winter.
I started at the front gate, and later worked in the concession stand. I also helped build a wall on the Augusta side, because light from new housing developments were interfering with viewing movies.
Sometime in the late 70s or 80s the screen blew over—the supports were all wood. It was replaced with a steel supported screen.
I still remember the intermission music, and some of the commercials for local businesses that were run during intermission.
A more accurate address for this theater is 2830 Ohio St. Augusta KS 67010. This points directly to the entrance road. Now White Eagle Credit Union. Some ramps are visible.
Please update.
There’s a nice 1968 photo of the Augusta at VintageAerial.com.
The drive-in still advertised in the 1983 Augusta High School yearbook, the Augustan.
Aerial photos show the drive-in with screen was still intact in 1986. Whether it was open or not I do not know.
By 1991, the screen was gone.
