This opened as the Ghent Theatre on July 1st, 1915, and closed (or stopped placing ads in the newspapers) in 1918. It reopens on September 3rd, 1928, and reopens again as the Plaza theatre on July 18th, 1932. Grand opening ads posted.

Yes I agree.
Levine is a fairly common surname, so there were probably other stores called Levine’s around the country that were unrelated to the Texas chain. A store called Levine’s located next door to a theater operated by Levine Theatrical Enterprises might even have been a coincidence.
Someone pointed out that “Levine’s” also appears horizontally on the neighboring building. Levine’s was apparently a chain store in Dallas. But I can find no similar Plaza Theatre buildings there or in Texas for that matter.
Jones Institute of Eastern Virginia Medical School has the address 601 Colley Avenue, so the footprint of that large building probably includes the former site of the Plaza Theatre.
