Virginia Theatre

Opened as the New Virginia Theatre prior to 1931. By 1936 it was operated by Warner Bros. Circuit Management Corp. as the Virginia Theatre. By 1959 it was operated by Stanley-Warner and was still open in 1964. In 1977 it was taken over by Roth Theatres. It was demolished in 1990.

Saw a lot of movies here as a kid. My most vivid memory is waiting in the lobby to get into KING KONG, listening to John Barry’s score echoing down the hallway during the pr vious screening.

The New Virginia theatre opened on January 26th, 1914, and held a reopening on September 3rd, 1934. Grand opening ads posted.
