Crown Valley Entrance

The five-screen Edwards Crown Valley Cinemas opened on December 25, 1986. It was located near the Mission Viejo Mall where Edwards already had three screens. This made it Edwards' 24th Orange County location, not counting the 15 theaters in surrounding counties. The last day it appeared in Edwards’ newspaper listings was on July 15, 1999.

The Crown Valley was a prototypical 80’s Edwards multiplex; shallow two story lobby (restrooms on second floor), one large (500+ seat) auditorium directly off of the lobby, and additional auditoriums down an adjoining hallway.

The theatre was converted in to a church, circa 2002.

Crown Valley was a pretty nice theater. I only saw two films here, “Blind Date” and “Demolition Man.” The midsize auditorium was wide and seemed to have a lot of seats. I didn’t get a chance to see a film in the complex’s biggest house which was equipped for 70mm Six-Track Dolby Stereo presentations.
